Energy Policy in Africa

For fifteen years, ECONOTEC has been setting up, under the EIS-Africa project, Energy Information Systems (EIS) in African countries.

An EIS is a structured set of validated and analysed technico-economic data necessary for the implementation and the monitoring of an efficient energy policy.

The technical support approach developed by ECONOTEC is focused on a full transfer of skills: after three years, the local teams have the ability to work in complete autonomy.

Countries that have benefited from the EIS-Africa project: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Senegal, Togo.

Financial promotors of EIS-Africa: European Commission, Institut de la Francophonie pour le Développement Durable (IFDD), Wallonia-Brussels International (WBI), national governments.
